The debut release from TOMORA — the collaborative project between AURORA and Tom Rowlands — feels less like a traditional record and more like a transmission from somewhere just outside reality. It brings together two very different creative worlds, blending huge electronic production with raw emotion in a way that feels unpredictable from start to finish.
It's an album of equal parts euphoric rave, haunted dreamscape and emotional overload, COME CLOSER is one of the boldest electronic albums of the year.
Built across studio sessions in England and Norway, the album emerged organically from experimentation rather than expectation. Rowlands described the process as creating music “without obligation or expectation”, while AURORA framed it as a space where both artists were free to push beyond their usual boundaries.
Tracks like “RING THE ALARM” explode with energy and momentum, while songs such as “I DRINK THE LIGHT” feel almost dreamlike in comparison. The album constantly moves between those extremes without ever losing focus, creating something that feels both chaotic and carefully crafted at the same time.
For a debut project, TOMORA sound remarkably confident in what they want to create. COME CLOSER doesn’t feel like a collection of singles stitched together; it feels like a complete experience from beginning to end.
