Body Wash, released in 2016, is among LA artist Mndsgn’s most beloved albums. • Fans will welcome this first vinyl repress since its original release – now on lavender eco-mix vinyl. Mndsgn’s other albums include Yawn Zen, Rare Pleasure, and the Snax beat tape series. Mndsgn has collaborated with Danny Brown, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Liv.e, Anna Wise, Fousheé, Carlos Nino, Devin Morrison, and several other artists. • After the beat-led excursions of his debut album Yawn Zen, Mndsgn put together a set of fully realised songs influenced by the likes of early SOLAR records material, Leon Sylvers III, Kashif, and Dave Grusin – artists that Mndsgn says “really embodied that potent feeling in the early 80s boogie/funk/soul/jazz/fusion wave.” At the time of its release, Mndsgn described Body Wash as “a soul record that plays with nostalgic elements in a very dynamic & positive way. Think about it as a box of crayons for you to draw emotions with.” • In its review of Body Wash published in 2016, Pitchfork wrote: “If the elusive destination that Ancheta’s music has been trying to reach turns out to be a 1981 roller-rink party, it’s been a journey well-spent, and only makes the next destination more eagerly anticipated.”
