Trends come and trends go but Nick Heyward is proof that great songwriting is timeless. In the UK, at least, the mid '90s will be best remembered as the time of Britpop, a return to catchy guitar-driven Pop tunes, that drew inspiration from the Beat scene 30 years earlier, and offered a more upbeat, optimistic alternative to the imported Grunge movement.
