Those familiar with Skelton’s stunning The Lookerer will recognise the depth and power of her voice here, woven through Simmons’ atmospheric arrangements. 1906 moves between brooding folk and widescreen rock, its gothic western undertones recalling the shadowy tension of Ennio Morricone. The record features a rich supporting cast of eclectic musicians whose contributions amplify its cinematic mood and emotional gravity—a long-hidden treasure now brought vividly to life.
